Testing, Stressing, and Packing. Oh My!

It's been a long time since I've posted. Sorry about that. Life is crazy. I'll just let you know the recent stuff.

On the 3rd, Wil finished  his 1 year course at SLCC to be a pharmacy technician. His teachers had a small ceremony to congratulate the class for finishing. It was small and sweet. Wil got a pin that he can use as a tie tack or just a pin. It's pretty awesome. I was, and still am, so proud of him for completing this program and for doing so well in all his classes.

Since then, we have been working on filling out his application for his pharmcy technician license (required by the state in order to work as a pharmacy tech). That thing is massive, but it's pretty much all done now. Just a few tiny details to finish before he can submit it.

While working on his application, Wil has also been preparing to take the national exam that is required. He scheduled it for the 17th (yesterday) so he would have time to study and prepare. Well, he took it and passed!!! I'm so excited and relieved and I believe that he is as well. It's a huge weight off our shoulders. The hard stuff is done. He finished school and passed all his classes and he passed the exam. The application is going to be easy compared to all that work.

Wil has been so busy with this that all the planning and preparing for our two vacation coming up has fallen on my shoulders. I don't mind. He needed to concentrate on getting all of that done. It has been super stressful though. I'm still not even close to ready, but I have the weekend and that's it. If we're not ready, we're going anyway.

A few weeks ago, I got an e-mail at work that stated our company was sponsoring a 5k run and 2k walk and that if we signed up and joined Team England, the company would pay our entrance fee. I've wanted to do a 5k, but haven't actually prepared for one, so Wil and I decided to sign up for the 2k walk. It's just over a mile, which we walk often, so we thought it'd be a great idea. The 2k was on Saturday at Sugarhouse park. It was a lot of fun. We finished it in 35 minutes and enjoyed our time together. We also got 2 free t-shirts out of it.

Earlier this week, Paula, Wil's step mom, called and asked if I wanted to join her, Jenny (Wil's oldest brother's wife), and Rachel (his younger brother's wife) in a 5k event for women only. It is scheduled for Saturday which would cut into my vacation prep time, but I decided to do it anyway. So, only 1 week after doing my first 2k walk, I will be doing a 5k run (although we'll be walking most of it I'm sure). It should be fun though. All us girls will be doing a slumber party tomorrow night so that we're ready for the race in Ogden the next morning.

Next week, we are heading to Albany to visit Wil's mother, brother and his family. After a week with them, we will be going to Illinois for my family renuion trip. We're going to be visiting my brother and his family who live there, and doing all sorts of things. It's going to be a fun vacation, at least it will if I can get all the packing done before it's time to go.
