28 Week Glucose Test

This morning, I had my 28 week appointment with my doctor and also had to do my glucose test. I don't know the results yet. My doctor will have them tomorrow, so I assume that if something not good comes up, I'll hear about it.

The drink wasn't as bad as everyone made it sound. I had the lemon lime, and they had it refrigerated so it was cold. I got it down within about a minute or two. It's not something I'd choose to drink, but wasn't bad over all. It really did just taste like flat 7 Up.

After drinking the sugar stuff, our little girl was SERIOUSLY active. She wouldn't stop moving. I met with a fill in doctor (my doctor was on vacation). He was great. So far, there haven't been any issues or problems with me or the baby. We're both doing just fine and she's growing well. When the doctor tried to get the heartbeat, she kept kicking the doppler (I'm telling you...seriously active after all that sugar). We'd hear the heartbeat for maybe a second, and then we'd hear a thump. He'd move the doppler, but the same thing happened. It was obvious that she had a heartbeat and was alive and well though with how active she was so it didn't really bother me.

After meeting with the doctor, I went back to the lab to get my blood drawn. That's the part I'm not fond of. It went fine and didn't hurt much. The staff at that lab have been really great about being able to get blood from my veins without moving the needle around a lot or having to re-prick me.

After that, Wil and I went and got breakfast at the hospital cafeteria and then he dropped me off at work. This pregnancy hasn't been too bad for me so far. I'm sure I'll get more and more uncomfortable as the weeks go on, but it's been nice that there's been nothing that has really worried me or my doctor. Wil has even been pretty calm through the whole thing.
