Crazy Saturday

Saturday was super busy and really crazy! First off, Kassi and I agreed that if we beat our first 5k time, we'd treat ourselves to pedicures. Well, we beat it by quite a bit 2 weeks ago so on Saturday, we went and got pedicures. I wore my favorite capri pants so I wouldn't have to deal with rolling up my pant legs. When I stepped out of my car to greet Kassi, she informed me that I had a GIANT hole in my pants that went the length of my butt. At this point, they are expecting us for our pedicures and I really want a pedicure, and I was in West Valley so going home quickly and changing wasn't really an option. I decided to use my purse as a shield (I'm sure people thought I looked retarded), and Kassi was nice enough to walk behind me to shield me. Luckily, once we got inside, I got to sit for all of it and then Kassi shielded me again as I went back to my car in humiliation. The pedicure was very relaxing and I enjoyed being pampered and chatting with Kassi.

When I got home, I quickly changed pants, after showing Wil (he thought it was hilarious), and decided to relax and watch some TV before cleaning the kitchen. About 15 minutes into my chill time, Wil calls from downstairs and asks me to find him a shirt. I had just done some laundry so I grabbed a fresh shirt from the dryer and waiting for him to come grab it. He ran up the stairs and past me to his shoes. I had to throw his shirt at him to get his attention. He told me he just talked to our friend, Nate, and Nate's wife, Megan, who is 7 1/2 months pregnant, just got in a car accident and Nate had no way to get to her. Wil had agreed to go get him. Wil then asked if I wanted to come with. I agreed and we raced off to pick up Nate and get him to his very pregnant wife. We arrived to find that a truck had backed into her car in a parking lot. The whole front of their car was smashed up pretty badly and it was disabled, while there was barely a scratch on the truck. Megan was very shaken up, as was the guy who hit her once he realized she was pregnant. Megan was mostly worried about the baby since her seatbelt dug into her belly quite a bit. Everyone was fine though and it was all ok in the end. We took Nate and Megan to pick up a rental car, and then they came with us to meet up with Sid, and his friend Vanessa, for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory in City Creek.

We rode Trax down to City Creek and had to wait quite a while to be seated (even though everyone else had gotten their first and had been waiting almost an hour when we arrived). Once seated, we waited what seemed like forever for bread and our drinks, and then another seemingly long time for our food. The food was fantastic though and we had fun.

Right after ordering, Wil got a call from one of the pharmacists he works with. She called to find out where he was since he was scheduled to work. Wil panicked and told her he had written his schedule down and he wasn't scheduled for today. He asked which shift he was scheduled for and it was one that he had never been trained on. He apologized and let her know that he was downtown but could be there by 5 if needed. She told him that she would try to find someone else to cover it and not to worry about it unless he hears otherwise. After hanging up, Wil was freaking out. He couldn't figure out how he had missed that he was scheduled. Ann called him back and told him not to worry about coming in. Wil still couldn't calm down and I had to talk to him quite a bit before he was able to relax enough to just eat. Finally, he calmed down and enjoyed himself. We left as quickly as possible since he wanted to stop by work to make sure he had his schedule written down fully. I had to go to the Empress that night so he dropped me off and headed to work. He called me a little while later to let me know he was going to finish the shift he was supposed to be working so he wouldn't be home until late. We both felt a lot better about the situation and so hopefully he won't get in trouble for anything. It was complete crazyness!!

I'll talk about my exprience at the Empress in a seperate post since this one is already crazy long!
