I just realized that I never posted an update on here after the Hello Dolly auditions. Well, I got in, but I'm ensemble. I don't mind really, but I was hoping for a featured part. Rehearsals have been a lot of fun. We have a very talented cast and we are starting to look and sound amazing. I love it! The people in the cast are all great as well, and there are quite a few people in it that I know from other shows I've done.
My biggest disappointment so far is that I don't really dance at all yet. I do one small dance so far and the rest of the time I'm just walking on or off stage or standing on the stairs. I understand that we have a very large cast and it's impossible for all of us to be dancing on stage at once, but I know I can dance so it's frustrating to not get a chance. We've only done the first act so far so maybe I'll get lucky in the second act and get to dance more. That's always been my favorite part of being in musicals.
Anyway, enough of that. I love being in the play and I love how great it is looking and sounding. I can't wait until opening night when all our hard work pays off and we get to perform in front of an audience!
